....is a creative design studio based in Vienna, focusing on material research and leveraging computational tools as we continuously explore pioneering methods to redefine the architectural domain. At the heart of our studio lies a commitment to ecological sustainability, driving us to refine design methodologies that align with evolving technologies.

Ten Seventy
A lightscape sculpture

Ten Seventy is a modern and abstract design. It features several elongated, tubular lights that are suspended vertically, seemingly enclosed within a larger, open geometric framework. The design is inspired by the beauty and didactic nature of light, with all its decadent history, it hones in on light as a meeting point, providing visibility and creating a beacon of comfort, safety and serenity.

The design is primarily fabricated using an additive manufacturing technique of 3d printing sand. The multiple linear lights provide a bright and focused light source, using LED technology due to their slim profile. The overall aesthetic is minimalist, with clean lines emphasizing form and function working in conjunction with each other to create the perfect balance.

Behavioural Skins
Multi-layered monolithic sand artefacts

Behavioural Skins, discovering functional inter-spatial ornamentation and urban heat reduction through multi-layered monolithic sand artefacts.

It is a design and material research-led project that explores the combining of computational design methods with environmental data to inform innovative building assets, essentially a brick typology that spans the width of an existing wall. Its core aim is to address the ongoing climate emergency by streamlining the design process of renovations within an urban context, by using the local climate as a leading design parameter, and by testing innovative additive fabrication methods and materials.

Trouble
Data Sculpted Futures

Trouble, Data Sculpted Futures, is an interactive sculpture that merges data into matter, whilst exploring ecological futures, fostering curiosity about the climate crisis, and promoting harmonious coexistence through innovative design methods, materials, and fabrication techniques. It was recently showcased as part of Dubai Design Week 2023.

The project adopts a design approach rooted in computational and data-driven technologies to contribute to the discourse on design and ecology. It employs innovative procedural methods that blend human and machine intelligence and fabrication techniques to create harmonious strategies for coexistence.

Exikon
Energy at the Threshold

Currently being displayed in the Postsparkasse, Vienna, at "Energy at the Threshold of the Visible World: Intersections of Science, Humanities and Architecture" exhibition curated by Tülay Atak and Bernhard Sommer at the IOA.

Between Boundaries

Abstract: What if cracks were not only a result of human intervention but instead took a front seat in driving this architectural revolution? Where building skins cease to be mere physical barriers. Instead, they become dynamic interfaces, formulating a myriad of interstitial socio-spatial enclaves that activate urban realms and reinvigorate ecological presence. Embracing multiplicity and heterogeneity of surfaces and spaces, inviting us to revel in possibilities beyond the ordinary, where thresholds blossom in the blurred and in between.
